Sociocultural activities for Spanish Students

Our Spanish courses include cultural and social activities to enjoy yourself by learning at the same time. Madrid is a great city to go out at night, go out for “tapas”, or visit some of the most important museums of the world. The program of activities has been designed so that you can practice Spanish outside the class, enjoy yourself and have a better understanding of our culture.

Prices of our cultural activities: Most activities are free (guided visits, some museums, workshops and conferences). Those activities that require payment (some museums, hiking trips and visits to other cities) will range between 3€ and 20€.

Guided visits around Madrid

When strolling around Madrid is impossible not to come across with palaces, churches, convents, unique buildings and historic monuments. Accompanied with a teacher, you will discover interesting places worth visiting: Madrid of the Austria’s (the Austrian monarchy), El Retiro Park, the Writers district, the Monasteries of la Encarnación and las Descalzas Reales, o the Royal Palace among other sites.

Madrid and its Museums

Madrid is a cultural reference thanks to three museums that are located at the so called “art triangle”: El Prado Museum, Reina Sofía Museum, and Thyssen-Bornemisza. With you teachers you will visit these and other museums off the beaten track: The Suit Museum, Cerralbo Museum, Sorolla Museum, Casa de América, etc.

Workshops and conferences

At the school’s premises you can attend workshops and conferences about Spanish cultural and social life: architecture, art, history, gastronomy.

Tapas night and flamenco*

This is a unique opportunity to taste the varied gastronomy of our country while enjoying flamenco, a local dance which has been listed as part of the Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO. The main goal of the tapas night is to get together while enjoying eating.

* Not free.

Other activities

Eventually, we organize activities on demand, taking suggestions from the students such as the Photograhy Marathon, the International Food Day, where students can taste dishes from different countries, the fancy dress party, Carnival, the Music Week, where students learn about different musicians around the Hispanic world, or the Games Week, where we learn and play games from Spanish folklore.

Madrid and sourroundings

Madrid is the perfect base to organize excursions to historic cities which have been declared of Wolrd Heritage Centres: Salamanca, Ávila, Segovia, Toledo.
