We propose a very special program: Spanish Course and ‘Gourmet Experience’ in Madrid
During the morning you will have your intensive Spanish course. Starting at 2:00pm we will begin with the activities focused on the culinary culture of Spain and Madrid.
Visit gourmet markets and traditional food markets.
In Madrid, the best traditional and gastro markets in the country are found, such as the ‘Mercado de San Miguel’, the ‘Mercado de la Paz’, the ‘Mercado de Chamberí’ or ‘Platea Madrid’, the largest gastronomic entertainment center in Europe.
Have ‘tapas’ in the oldest taverns of Madrid or eat in the world’s oldest restaurant.
With Paraninfo Academy you can also discover the best taverns with a lot of tradition and history, take a tour of the most “typical” bars of the capital, such as Casa Labra, Casa Alberto, Malacatín or El viejo Rey de los Vinos ..
In Madrid you can also find the oldest restaurant in the world, certified by the Guinness Book of Records, The Sobrino de Botín, founded in 1725 where the painter Francisco de Goya worked scrubbing dishes in his teens. There you can savor such traditional and famous dishes such as suckling pig, lamb roasted in a wood-fired oven, garlic soup, and garlic shrimp.
Lhardy has the honor of being the first restaurant in Spain to establish the concept of a menu: two dishes and dessert. Its menu is defined as European fine cuisine in a courtly and aristocratic atmosphere of the 20th century. Famous for its Cocido Lhardy, centennial specialty, it is mandatory in your visit to Madrid.
Enjoy a ‘chocolate con churros’ in San Ginés.
One of the most traditional places in Madrid, open 24 hours, where you can have breakfast or the typical Spanish snack: ‘churros with chocolate’ Don’t miss it!
Have a ‘bocadillo de calamares’ or a piece of ‘tortilla española’ at Plaza Mayor.
Another thing that most characterizes Madrid gastronomically speaking is its ‘bocata de calamares’ (calamari sandwich) and its Spanish omelette (or ‘tortilla de patatas’) and what better setting than the ‘Plaza Mayor’ in the capital to taste this exquisite informal meal.
Spain is a country to savor and experience the passion for its gastronomy with all the senses, and Madrid is the perfect city to live and taste the most authentic Spanish cuisine.
