Travel and medical insurance

If you are coming to Spain and you come from a non-EU country, it is mandatory to have insurance to travel here and to be granted a student visa or another type of visa. It is not mandatory for students from European countries but it is highly recommended.

Paraninfo Academy works with the best insurance company, Guard.Me. It is an international insurance, with a very good price and a wide network of affiliated medical centers.

The coverage of GuardMe (Global Plan B and Canada) uses an “open” system since you can go to any clinic or health center. On the other hand, it is a “mixed” system since it operates through “reimbursement” or “assistance” depending on various factors, such as destination / city and urgency.

For example, suppose a doctor needs you to have tests. If you have consulted and coordinated it with GuardMe, normally there will be no need for prior payment. GuardMe will take care of the expenses, and no reimbursement is necessary. The same happens in case of an emergency: having the credential together with the personal documents, the medical center usually contacts GuardMe to manage the administrative aspects.
