What will you do in Madrid with the Spanish Course and Gourmet Experience

Visit food and traditional markets: Madrid is home to the best markets in the country such as Mercado de San Miguel, Mercado de la Paz, Mercado de Chamberí or Platea Madrid, the largest gastronomic leisure center in Europe. Have tapas in the oldest taverns, all of them filled with a lot of tradition and history. In addition, you will take a tour of the most typical bars in the capital, such as Casa Labra, Casa Alberto, Malacatín or El anciano Rey de los Vinos. Eat in the oldest restaurant in the world, certified by the Guinness Book of Records: El Sobrino de Botín. Establishment founded in 1725, the painter Francisco de Goya worked there in his teens, washing dishes. During your visit, you can savor traditional and famous dishes such as suckling pig and roasted lamb in a wood oven, garlic soup or garlic prawns. Lhardy has the honor of being the first restaurant in Spain to establish the concept of a menu: two dishes and a dessert. European haute cuisine in a courteous and aristocratic atmosphere of the 20th century, it is famous for its Lhardy stew, a centuries-old specialty. Of course, almost “compulsory” visit if you sign up for the Spanish Course and ‘Gourmet Experience’. Snack on some churros with chocolate in San Ginés, one of the most traditional places in Madrid. Open 24 hours a day for you to taste a typical Spanish breakfast or snack: churros with chocolate. Have a squid sandwich or a tortilla in la Plaza Mayor: another of the things that most characterizes Madrid’s gastronomy is its squid sandwich (bocadillo) and its Spanish omelette (tortilla española or tortilla de patatas). And what better place than la Plaza Mayor to savor this informal but exquisite food!
