The Spanish Course and Literary Madrid Experience is made up of a very special program. Through an immersion in Spanish culture, you will get to know the Spanish literature of the Golden Age. Put your Spanish classes into practice on the streets of Madrid, which have been the setting for the best novels by Spanish writers of all time.
What is the Experience like
The classes are developed following the pattern of our Intensive Spanish Course 20 in which you will receive 4 classes per day every morning from Monday to Friday. In the afternoon, after eating, you can choose between two of the trips or workshops:
- Teatro Español and Lope de Vega Museum.
- Literary Quarter.
- Visit to the best bookstores in Madrid.
- National Library of Spain.
- Social gathering with your Spanish teacher in a classic café in Madrid, El Café Gijón.

What you will get to see in the Spanish Course and Literary Madrid Experience
‘Teatro Español’
Madrid’s public theater with more than 400 years of history is one of the oldest theaters in the world. It has maintained its activity continuously. In its origins it was built to host comedies but today all kinds of functions of the Spanish scene are hosted. In addition, it has an exhibition room and other original rooms such as the tea room, the library or the Tirso de Molina room. The building has a great view view of the Plaza Santa Ana, one of the jewels of Madrid.
‘Lope de Vega House Museum’
Being able to enter what was the home of one of the most famous writers of Spanish literature is an experience which you cannot miss. Lope Félix de Vega Carpio lived his last 25 years in this house, today recovered as a museum. You will be able to see the writer’s original furniture and objects. Plus, if you sign up for the Spanish Course and Literary Madrid Experience in the summer, you can attend one of the theatrical performances that are organized in one of the rooms of the house.
Literary Quarter of Madrid – “Las Letras” neighbourhood
An absolute must visit during your stay in Madrid. Culture, history and architecture transform the walk through its streets into a trip to the Golden Age. Find out where important authors such as Cervantes, Quevedo, Góngora or Lope de Vega walked or lived. Of course, all of this while enjoying the great variety of tapas in the cellars or buying in the typical shops that still retain the charm of another era.

Visit the wonderful National Library of Spain that receives and preserves copies of all the books published in Spain. In addition, it has a valuable collection of historical treasures such as manuscripts, prints, drawings, photographs, tape recordings, musical scores etc…
