Isidore the Laborer
Discover the old Madrid Cathedral, called Iglesia de San Isidro or Colegiata, built in the 17th century and on whose main altar is the tomb of the patron saint of Madrid.
‘La Almudena’ Cathedral
Pope John Paul II consecrated La Almudena in June 1993, making it the only church in Spain to be sanctified. It is one of the most iconic buildings of Madrid’s religious heritage and one of the most visited sights.
‘Cristo de Medinaceli’ Church
The Basilica of Jesus de Medinaceli is built on an old convent founded in 1806. One of the outstanding elements of its architecture are the wonderful stained glass windows distributed throughout the temple and reflecting the history of devotion to Christ.
Prado Museum’s religious paintings
A doubly special visit. As you tour the rooms of one of the best museums, you discover its main religious works. The Prado Museum has one of the most valuable and important collections in the world, in which religious paintings have a fundamental role. You can admire works by Murillo, Velázquez, José de Ribera or Coello.
