If you want to learn Spanish and live in Madrid, we offer the Spanish Course and Au-Pair Work Placement in Spain, with a family from Madrid. This course is mostly aimed at native English, German and French speakers. In all cases, you must be 18 or over. Our Au Pair program offers young people the opportunity to spend time in Madrid, learn more about a different culture and improve their Spanish language skills. At the home of the host family, you will have to help with tasks related to child care but you will not have to clean or cook. You will also receive pocket money for personal expenses. It is mainly a cultural exchange as the host family also discovers aspects of another culture.
What is the Spanish Course and Au Pair Placement like
Before starting to work as an Au Pair, for 4 weeks you will take an intensive Spanish course of 4 hours a day, from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This way you take advantage of learning the language and you gain confidence, become familiar with our way of living and you get to know the city. At the same time, you will have interviews with the possible families where you might be placed as an Au Pair which will give you the opportunity to meet them in person. After those 4 weeks of Spanish classes, you will go to live and work with the assigned family.

Accommodation is not included in those initial 4 weeks of the Spanish Course with Au Pair Work but we can find it for you. You can even stay in our shared flat, next to the school.

How long does the program last? It is up to you, the host family and the program regulations in the host country. Some countries have established a time that generally varies from 3 to 12 or 24 months. The duration is more flexible for Au Pairs within the European Union, as there are no visa requirements. What is the work schedule? In most countries, a maximum of 30 hours per week. You will have to agree the schedule with the host family. How much pocket money will you get? The official program of each country sets the minimum amount. Are you entitled to free time and vacations? You are generally entitled to 1-2 days off per week. In some countries, at least one day off must be Sunday. In some cases you will also have the right to enjoy at least one whole free weekend per month.
